- Trucking brokers match shippers and truck drivers. In return they take a commission, typically 15%. For an $800 billion market, that commission is $120 billion.
- Shippers would love to reduce their shipping costs by 15%.
- Along comes an app, based on the Uber app, that begins the destruction of the trucking broker industry.
- Shippers post loads they want delivered on the app.
- Truck drivers click on the loads they want to deliver.
- The shipper saves 15%. The truck driver is paid the same. The broker is out of a job.
Google “Uber app for the trucking industry” and you’ll see that the destruction of the trucking broker industry is well under way.
